Penis Envy Spore Swab
One of the most extensively documented P. cubensis specimens in the hobby. The accepted origin traces to wild spores collected by Terence McKenna in the Amazon in the early 1970s. A mutant phenotype, characterized by an underdeveloped partial veil and unusually thick stem morphology, was subsequently isolated and stabilized by Texas mycologist Dr. Steven Pollock. Genomic research has since identified a 4.6kb insertion in the N-methyltransferase gene not found in standard P. cubensis surveys, making Penis Envy one of the few named cubensis specimens with a documented genetic distinction. Each swab is prepared under sterile lab conditions from verified specimens and tested before release. Spores 9.5-14 x 7-10um, light-to-medium purple-brown pigmentation, notably dense with thicker walls than typical cubensis. Produces fewer spores per print than most specimens.
